We are regularly asked questions about features on the Allworx VOIP telephone system. Here’s the answers:
How do I access my Allworx voicemail box from outside the office?
From the auto attendant, dial 6 plus your extension
If you call in from outside the office and staff person answers, have them simply hit transfer, then 404
Have all of your voicemail messages sent to you by email. This is the way we have all of the voicemails set up on our Allworx system and as a result I haven’t retrieved a voice mail message from my phone in months! I just listen to them via email. If set this up this way and you still prefer to check messages from your mailbox, you can do that too. Setting this feature requires the assistance of an Allworx support company (like JHB)
How do I transfer calls to my cell phone?
Option 1: Have a fellow staff member hit “transfer” then “9” then your mobile #
Option 2: On the reception 24 button sets, create a 1 touch speed dial key so that the receptionist/operator can simply hit “transfer” then the speed dial button for that staff member’s cell phone
Option 3: Use your phone’s “Presence” settings, this way any call transferred to your extension will automatically go to your cell phone. Here is how it works (from any Allworx 9200 series phone) (Note: your phone instrument must be in the resting position and not in use):
- Hit the “Presence” key located on the lower right hand side of the display
- Using the up and down keys to the right of the display toggle down to where it says “Away”
- Hit the middle square button (between the up and down keys) to activate the change. After 30 to 60 seconds you will see the “Mute/DND” flashing on your phone. This confirms your Presence has changed. If it does not repeat the process. If it still doesn’t take form ones cell phone please call us and we’ll walk you through the procedure
- IMPORTANT IN ORDER FOR THIS TO WORK YOU WILL NEED YOUR ALLWORX VENDOR TO REMOTELY PROGRAM THE CELL PHONE NUMBER INTO EACH EXTENSION
